Quick Dinner: Balsamic Steak Kabobs

IMG_0227I don’t have a washing machine. And it stinks. It means that every once in a while I have to give up a weeknight, and go hang out at the laundromat. Fun fact: This trip was prompted by me spilling simple syrup all over my jeans at work (for an AMAZING recipe you’ll see in our October/November issue!). Read the rest of this entry »

Easy-Peasy Tomato Sauce

IMG_0211

They’re basically sugar cookies with filling, but in actuality they’re so much more than that. No worries for those who are nervous, this was my first time making them too!

While preparing to make some for a friend’s birthday, I started seeing cupcake wraps everywhere. These aren’t cupcake liners or tins, they’re a second layer that make cupcakes look even more precious and special than before. I’m not saying they’re great for post-soccer game snacks or picnics, but when cupcakes need to be elevated just a little – these are great. Unfortunately they also average about $1 each. So I decided to make some, and see if I could bring the cost down a smidge. My version only cost about $.10 a piece…
